Trinity Academy is sponsored by Future Academies, a multi-academy trust founded by Lord and Lady Nash with the aim of broadening horizons for young people across the country. Governing Body

A MAT plays a number of roles in the life of an academy, setting its direction, working with the leadership team to ensure that it provides the best learning environment for the students, and leading the Governing Body. The MAT is responsible for fostering progress in all areas of the academy’s operation, promoting value for money and good use of public funds, and championing the academy in the wider community.

Kate Eccles

Having four years of experience as a secondary Science teacher and Head of Physics at two challenging London schools, Kate has a strong understanding of the life of a secondary school. She now works as a policy advisor in the Department for Education, bringing her experience from the classroom to policy-making. Outside of work she is a keen hiker and enjoys swimming and cycling. She lives locally to the school, and is a frequent visitor to the leisure centre at Phoenix.

Lara Newman

Lara Newman is Chief Executive at LocatED, the government-owned property company, responsible for buying and developing sites for new free schools in England. Lara has over twenty years' property experience and has operated at the heart of the free schools policy since its inception prior to the 2010 election. Previously a Board Director at Cleanslate Ltd, a development and property consulting company, Lara worked with many of the UK’s biggest landowners, agents and developers; prior to that, as Managing Director at Navigant Consulting, Lara specialised in property deals and complex capital investment projects for government education capital programmes.

Iliana Paskova

Experienced Business Development professional in the consumer electronics industry, focusing on Emerging Markets, and with a long previous track record in the financial services industry. Iliana has spent a number of years in the banking sector including Goldman Sachs, where she built in-depth knowledge of the debt capital markets and experience in capital structuring and restructuring mainly in the TMT sector. At Apple, Iliana has been building and managing high performing teams both in Sales Finance and Sales Business Development. Iliana is a CFA Charterholder and holds an MBA from London Business School, Master in Finance from Amsterdam Business School and MSc in Computer Science from Sofia Technical University.

Paul Smith, Chair of Governors

Paul is Chief Executive of Future Academies. Paul is Accounting Officer for the Trust. Paul's background is as a National Leader of Education, principal of a teaching school, school inspector and, most recently, as an RSC.
